Andrea of The Sweet Life wins this category with her guess of 8 lbs 12 oz. Ten points. I don't even have to feel bitter about her guessing such a big baby, since our little Babynater (Matt's nickname, not mine) was even a bit larger. Sara J, Amy and IIDLYYCKMA all guessed close to nine pounds for honorable mentions.

We would have named her Hailey Pauline. Hailey inspired by Hale's Ales Brewery in Seattle. Pauline because we wanted a name that started with "P" for the baby's middle name. In the pseudo-Jewish/Yiddish/superstitious crap traditions of my family, you honor a living relative by giving a baby their initial. {You never give a baby the same name as an older relative because the angel of death can get confused. I know. Dark. Morbid. Welcome to my family.} My mom and Dad's first names start with "P" and so did Matt's Grandmother's first name. There you have it. Kind of anticlimactic.
Manic Mommy was the first to guess Hailey for ten points. Melissa Joff, Gayle and Akilah also had the right name.
Let's talk about sex, baby: BOY! Matt is a one trick pony. He makes stocky, ruddy lads.

Hit 40 from Sane Without Drugs was the first to predict we'd have yet another boy. She takes the ten points.After all of the guessing, when the points had settled, I'm A Smart One hangs onto her lead and wins the handmade blanket. Congratulations!! So I was the first grandchild to be born. You'd think my grandfather would be like "oh no, just use the first initial. Don't wanna confuse the angel of death, since we follow the same jewish/yiddish morbid tradition as anymommy" but NO. He was all like "it's a girl. Make my name her middle name... no worries"

Ok, I call bullshit. You can't take a totally normal name like "Hailey" and claim to have it be beer inspired. I mean if you had named her Busch or something then I could get on board. Of course then you'd have a girl named Busch. So that might be awkward.

I'd never heard the angel of death getting confused thing before, I had heard that you never name a child after an older living relative because when you chastise your child for doing something incorrect you would also be chastising your relative, not sure where that one came from. I could totally see calling a baby Hales. Naming your child after a beer is not too bad, my cousin named her eldest son after a ski boot
